I spent a lot of time looking for a TRRS compatible 1/4 inch adapter to attach to my headphones that have a 3.5 mm TRRS plug (stereo audio + microphone that works with my iPhone/iPad). I wanted to connect to a dedicated Schiit Magni stereo headphone amplifier that has a 1/4 inch jack. My headphones have both TRS (stereo audio) and TRRS interchangeable leads and both worked perfectly with this adapter.
I tried several adapters through Amazon, some that even specifically said they were TRRS compatible with the CTIA standard common for modern smartphones in the USA, only to be disappointed time and time again. I didn't realize this search was going to be so difficult - I now know way more than I wanted to about TRS, TRRS, CTIA, and OMTP standards. This one finally worked as advertised so I purchased a second to have as a spare. Thank you MEE audio - very satisfied!
